Meet the Owner

Language Essentials, Inc. was founded in 2008 by Renée Werner. Inspired by a speech therapist while still a student, Renée made her decision to become a pediatric therapist as a career. She obtained her Master’s degree from San Jose State University and went on to get specialized training in myofunctional therapy and reading instruction.

For more than a decade, she provided pediatric therapy in private practice clinics, hospitals, public and private schools. Finally, she opened the first office for Language Essentials in San Ramon so she and other therapists could provide individual services instead of the group services she was able to offer in schools. She could also increase collaboration between parents and staff and bring about more success for the children being helped.

Expansion to Livermore and Tracy brings Renée’s brand of caring, supportive and friendly care to more families. Renée works hard to improve and expand the field of pediatric therapy by mentoring interns and instructing students at California State University, East Bay Graduate Speech Pathology Program, San Joaquin Delta College’s Speech Language Pathologist Assistant Program, and other universities nationwide.
